This is the tribute track to Brennan J. Comis aka Comistress aka BCP aka that guy who doesn't really rap good. He passed just one month ago and it's torn a lot of people's hearts out. He was truly my inspiration for getting into music as well as the engineering side of things.
Any proceeds from the purchases of this song will donated to the Alberta Music Education Foundation or donate directly here (www.canadahelps.org/dn/3259).
Please consider purchasing/donating as I really want to make sure the money goes to a good cause in his name.
lyrics
rippin' it random...it's how you would've wanted it
too much bearin' down on me, no knowin' what to spit
you were a fool on the mic, never knowin' your direction
could rap about (*smokin' anthrax*) it was a blessin'
I am what i am because of you 9
an inspiration that took me to another level so i could chew through minds
spit it how i want it, fuck a critic right?
be your own worst enemy, a cynic for life
now I'm in it for life, tutored me along my path
gave me props, I'm breaking down, never gave thought to how long it'd last
now I'm showin' my ass, tears in my eyes as I write this memoir
i liken this, to lightning strikin' repeatedly till I can't write no more
and that's exactly what it is
my pen has never left the page like this
it's like it's..comatose stricken
comis don't leave us like this
my prayers come up short and empty
ultimately..you're gone..and there's nothin' that can change it
life works in mysterious ways how could you blame it
but as for me I'm ballin' now..hollowed out, I'm callin' out, cut down and gutted my life is altered now
for better or the worse, there when I needed jest
always truthful, always wantin' me to grow and be the best love
